Complete Cottage Renovation and Restoration

This 1,100 sq ft, 4 bdrm, waterfront Muskoka cottage was renovated over the course of about 10 years.

Notably, the cottage was jacked and raised 11 inches at one end. The structure had fallen off its dry-stacked piers that had been installed in 1963 and never maintained.

Remediation included jacking the entire structure up to level and replacing 18 piers by digging 4' deep and pouring 10" sonotubes, installing 6x6 posts and inserting 3, 45 foot long beams (3, 2x10" glued and screwed and laminated with plywood)

Then the project really began:

2 decks were demolished and rebuilt
Waterfront Pergola added
Floating dock
Firepit area
All new electrical (brought underground from the service to the new panel)
New plumbing.
New baseboard heat.
New roof.
New windows.
Complete interior gut and replace - kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms.
Drywall, insulation.

Floor refinish.
